Allergy Free Wednesdays

Jan 24-29, 2012

Hello and welcome to Allergy-Free Wednesdays (AFW).  AFW is a weekly blog hop where folks can share their allergy-free cuisine, gain knowledge about allergy-related topics/issues, and connect with others living or caring for someone with food allergies.

This is a weekly blog hop hosted by myself and 4 other fabulous allergy-free bloggers.  Your weekly submissions will be shared on all 5 blogs!  Each week, we will each feature a favorite recipe(s) from the week before.  Sometimes there is simply too much goodness to pick only one!

  1. I hope your hop is a success! I linked up my GF DF Vanilla Scones, but something went wrong with the picture.

  2. I went ahead and linked it again to fix the picture error. You would never guess I'm a veteran blogger. :)

  4. Hi! I've posted my recipe for coconut milk yogurt. So Delicious is too expensive and has way too much sugar, so I like to make my own!

  5. Hi! I just found you over on the comments on Allergy Free Vintage Cookery. I'm excited to see another allergy focused blog hop!
Instead of a recipe, I decided to post the launch of a new series I'm working on about empowering kids on special diets. The first post talks a lot about WHY kids need special diets. The second one gets into how to talk to them about it and reset the dynamic around food in the house. Next up will be practical suggestions for making it work!

I'll be back next week with something yummy :)

  6. Hi. Just new to your site. I read your story and had to comment on the leaky gut. I believe my eldest son, 15 years old, suffered from leaky gut syndrome as a baby. He had mulitple ear infections and I thinkg the back to back medications messed up his gut. He also was reactive to dairy and a very unhappy infant. Taking dairy out of his diet helped but he also suffered terribly from eczema which did not clear until around Grade 6,7 and 8. He also has multiple food allergies and asthma. (dairy,egg,sesame,beef,fish,shellfish,peanut/tree nuts, mustard and raspberry) Back to the leaky gut...I started giving him probiotics (there are dairy free versions) I believe the probiotics helped to clean up his stomach...he has been taking it for years now. His sensitivities have disappeared but the food allergies remain. I also made sure he was getting enough EFO's. Due to fish allergies, I give him flax oil and evening primrose oil. The evening primrose immediately had a positive effect on his behaviour...he calmed right down and had less temper tantrums and had more patience. I have just started a blog about our journey with food allergies, eczema and asthma. Please stop by sometime. Susan H. @ The Food Allergy Chronicles
